About Gerry...

Gerry has been singing his way around the continent for the last fifty years. His first public performance was at the age of 16 in his local Estate Pub. When his mother found out, she gave him a clout around the ear-hole, but always knew his talent and pushed him forward to greater things.

A few years in a local Derby rock band, Isis Yak, gave him a taste for treading the boards and Gerry moved to London in late teenage years on the start of a career on stage.

Going solo, Gerry secured gigs around the Derby and Nottingham area and after a short stint as compare at The Talk of The Midlands, Derby, Gerry headed south.

His professional debut in the south was at the Top Hat Club in The Strand, London, where he was secured as Resident Compere and Band Vocalist. After a couple of years he moved on to secure a contract with a famous British Holiday Camp organisation where he learned all aspects of his trade. After a few years here, Gerry then found himself on the QEII entertaining holiday makers afloat.

While afloat, Gerry was spotted by a Newcastle upon Tyne agency and secured a contract performing in the Clubs of the North East. As Gerry says, "This was the finest apprenticeship an entertainer could possibly have."

Following this, Gerry spent the next 14 years entertaining up and down the UK with great success.

Some time was spent in Spain, Germany and Greece performing in tourist areas whilst also performing for both UK and American armed forces.

Upon his return to the UK, a  contract to perform at International Embassies in London followed, and Gerry performed for Kings, Queens and Politicians from around the globe.

In the past, he has appeared in variety shows with stars such as Tommy Cooper, Little and Large, Vince Eager, The Black Abbots, Shirley Bassey and many other luminaries.

These days, Gerry is content to sing in front of appreciative audiences wherever they might be.

For the best show in town - great vocals, good humour and audience appreciation
